Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate as a family! I love creating special memories together in simple ways, such as a Valentine’s Day family movie night, especially after doing activities throughout the month. We make delicious heart-shaped recipes together, and we design adorable crafts. My daughters and I even came up with a Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Daughters & Mothers! This time of year, our house is completely pink and covered in hearts from trying out all the gift guide submissions and deciding what to include.
When it comes time to actually celebrate Valentine’s Day, the simpler, the better. One of our favorite things to do as a family is plan a movie night once a week. We set up a movie candy snack bar, and pop some popcorn. Our children have gotten really into movies after years of these family movie nights. They’ve even started to make their own short movies too, and they submit their movies to film festivals!
Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to bring our home movie night theme to the next level with a few special activities. Simply choose a family-friendly movie (I shared 10 of my favorite Valentine’s Day family movies below), and get ready to cuddle up for hours!
Today on Enjoying Family Life, I am sharing some ideas for your Valentine’s Day movie night celebration along with free printable activity sheets to make it easy to plan! Whether you go all out with decorations or simply microwave a bag of popcorn, there’s really no way to mess up this Valentine’s Day tradition.
Start with a fun game of Would You Rather?
First, you can print out this Would You Rather: Valentine’s Day Edition, or display it digitally to use as an ice breaker. Each person has to choose between each column, and explain their reasoning. As everyone begins the night with laughter in the air and visions of sprinkles and paper hearts on their mind, it’s off to a great start!

Print Valentine’s Day home movie theater tickets
Our family has a tradition of printing movie tickets to welcome the children into the family movie theater. We make a big announcement that the movie is starting, and they can use their tickets to buy snacks and beverages. I made these Valentine’s Day movie theater tickets so you can do the same!

Display a Valentine’s Day movie poster
Another family tradition we have is creating a movie poster for our family movie nights. You can print off this poster for Valentine’s Cinema to hang as wall decor!

Play Valentine Movie Bingo
While watching the movie, play Valentine Movie Bingo. You can use candy hearts or movie candy as the pieces, and eat them after the round ends!
