Muggles, witches, and wizards alike strolled the charming streets of Old Ellicott City as Tiber Alley was transformed into Diagon Alley for Wizarding Weekend on Magical Main! Despite being put off one weekend due to rain, the event was a big success. Hand-crafted golden snitches spun in the air. Butterbeer and other treats were for sale on every corner. Visiting was the perfect way to welcome the Halloween season!

Walking through the historic shopping district, my family and I checked out the festive, spooky storefront windows. Many shops participated in having special Harry Potter-themed items for sale, and some offered discounts or giveaways exclusively during this weekend event.

Finding a cut-out of Harry Potter in the crowd meant it was time for a photo! A couple photo shoot opportunities were set up to help capture the moment, including a 9 3/4 platform, and later we spotted Hedwig the owl in a cage on top of a suitcase.

It was nice to see Old Ellicott City go all out with their decorations this year because combined with the amount of people in costume, it felt like we had fallen into the pages of the book series! We visited Wizarding Weekend on Magical Main a few years ago, and in comparing the two different events, I noticed there was more to do this time other than just shopping.

Craft tables were set up to create decorations and to make your own potion. Wands and other souvenirs were for sale in the open air market.
