If you are anything like me, and you made your way through the top mainstream films and television shows released since the pandemic began, you are looking for something new to watch. This is a great reason to support indie filmmakers. Now, since more and more film festivals are offering virtual options, watching the newest indie films is easier than ever.

One virtual film festival that is well worth checking out is the GreenScreen Film Fest. They offer an all-online platform for viewing indie films that make use of a green screen.

You’re in for some great special effects. Since these films aren’t made by major studios, you might even be inspired to learn how to make awesome green screen videos at home.

This year, my daughters and I took part in the GreenScreen Film Fest challenge. With the theme of As Fast As You Can, As Slow As You Dare, all three of us enjoyed creating short film ‘Twisted in Time.’ Directed by my third grade daughter, ‘Twisted in Time’ is a mixed media stop motion and live action movie. In this movie, a young child and her dog are whisked away into an animated world where her only way back is rebuilding her relationship with her favorite unicorn.

‘Twisted in Time’ is up for a People’s Choice Award, and we really hope you can vote for it!

In addition to voicing the character of our family dog Coco in ‘Twisted in Time,’ my older daughter also made a music video for her song ‘Quarantween.’
